Currently, Loadstar Company facilitates the transportation of ceramic tiles for clients from Ukraine to the EU. We aim to warn manufacturers about errors related to the correct formatting, content, and placement of labels on boxes and pallets. Before shipping goods, it is prudent to request clear instructions from customs and the construction commission regarding label placement and the specific information required. Specifically, the correctness of applying the “EC” letters is crucial; these letters must be inscribed within a circle and not distorted into an oval, for instance.
Special attention must be given to product codes and the importer’s name! Mistakes related to labeling can lead to delays in customs clearance for 3-5 days, or in the worst case, to the seizure of the vehicle and goods with subsequent proceedings for returning the goods to the exporter. Advice for importers: ask the seller for a photo of the label in advance, i.e., during or before loading the goods. Advice for exporters: ensure that your labels comply with all new EU rules and requirements before printing the labels and loading your products into the truck. Each packaging unit must be labeled. Details matter!
Contact us. We will share our experience in navigating complex situations when customs delay goods due to label non-compliance. We will help develop a plan of action to ensure that your goods reach their destination without the threat of re-export.
